Foundation of Münch Chemie Labor through Dr. Adolf Münch.
Research activities and product development are based on the requirements of the Freudenberg group conglomerate.
1958
The development and distribution of cleaners, release agents and wetting agents define the focus of our primary market activity.
1981
The company's name is being rebranded to Münch Chemie Labor GmbH.
1990
Wilhelm Münch takes over the chief executive position of the company.
1994
The sales department undergoes a structured reorganization to provide our field staff worldwide access to the open market.
1995
Münch Chemie is the first company in the world to have developed water-based release agents for polyurethane processing, especially half hard systems.
2001
Münch Chemie expands its market activities to provide products for the pressure die casting industry.
2002
The company's name is being rebranded to Münch Chemie International GmbH.
2003
The company's quality management systems evolve to a new ISO-certified standard, to be replaced with the ISO 9001:2000 management system by the end of the year.
2006
Michael Münch is appointed authorized signatory.
Further expansion of the sales network with sales staff in Western Europe and the CIS countries. By tapping into new markets, the company has achieved 20 percent growth in sales and increased its workforce.
2007
The company's quality management system is from now on to be accompanied by a certified environmental management system, ISO 14001:2005, valid as of November 2007.
2008
Corporate reorganization to reevaluate and focus on the company's core competences.
Strengthening the R&D-department by hiring additional employees and signing cooperative treaties with scientific institutes for mutual benefit.
2010
The business segment of "semi-permanent release agents for GRP (GFK/CFK)" has been replenished with environmentally-aware product solutions to fit a global change of customer demand. Water-based release agents find their designated application fields in the fabrication of fan blades, aerospace appliances as well as automotive suppliers and composite material processing industries.
2011
The international jury of JEC Asia has awarded Münch Chemie with the Innovation Price of the category "eco-friendly". The jury of specialists honored the development of the revolutionary Mikon® product line that does completely without solvents and volatile organic compounds.
2012
Münch Chemie International GmbH was awarded with the seal "Ethics in Business", honoring middle-sized enterprises in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland for fair, responsible and sustainable trading.
Münch Chemie was also certified by the LBA (Luftfahrt Bundesamt: German Federal Office for Aviation) and the company now holds the status of Known Consignor, meaning that the company has established a security programme in order to anticipate threats in air space.
2014/15
Extension of storage capacity through construction of a new hall. Expansion of the office and production.
2016/17
Münch Chemie International GmbH receives the seal “Innovative through research” from the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft.
2018
Münch Chemie International GmbH celebrates its 70th anniversary.
2019
Münch Chemie International GmbH has been awarded a silver medal for its company’s Corporate Social Responsibility management system performance by the independent, world-renowned sustainability assessment platform EcoVadis. www.ecovadis.com
Additionally, Münch Chemie has been certified according to the new standard for occupational health and safety management systems, ISO 45001:2018.
2020
Münch Chemie International GmbH awarded “gold” rating from EcoVadis for sustainability.
With this gold medal status, Münch Chemie belongs to the top 5% of all companies worldwide assessed by EcoVadis.
2022
Michael Münch, member of the company management at Münch Chemie International since 2011, becomes the sole managing director of the company.
2024
As the owner of the company, Ms. Corinna Stickel is responsible for the commercial management of the company, while Mr. Sebastian Drossmann is responsible for technical management.
2025
Münch Chemie has successfully completed the recertification of its ISO management systems in accordance with
DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management),
DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) and
DIN EN ISO 45001:2023 (Occupational Health and Safety Management).
