Nonwovens
Resin-bonded nonwovens are increasingly used to optimize acoustic and thermal insulation in automotive applications. In addition to their excellent insulation properties, key advantages include weight reduction and high impact resistance. Furthermore, they represent a cost-effective alternative to foam-based systems.
These materials consist of recycled cotton fibres combined with binders in powder or fibre form (e.g. phenolic, polyester or epoxy resins) and are moulded into finished parts at high temperatures in steel moulds.
Our product portfolio includes a wide range of water-based, semi-permanent release agents specifically developed for use with resin-bonded fibre nonwovens and suitable for steam-assisted processes.
Our products form a strong chemical bond with most mould materials, enabling a high number of releases per application.
In addition, our release agents do not transfer to the moulded parts, allowing subsequent processes such as painting or bonding without any additional post-treatment.
Excellent results are also achieved in the production of phenolic resin-impregnated papers.
