Release agents / Short-spraying / Micro-lubrication
High-quality release agents are essential in die casting and play a decisive role in ensuring component quality.
Long mould life and minimal application quantities (micro-lubrication) are key factors for the economic efficiency of your production.
Water-based mould release agents
Our portfolio focuses on cost-efficiency and process performance. By carefully selecting modern, high-quality raw materials, further processing of the cast parts – such as coating, painting, or bonding – is possible without additional surface treatment. Using our release agents enhances both the optical and physical properties of your final products.
We offer ready-to-use products as well as concentrates for aluminium, magnesium, and zinc die casting.

Short-spraying
To facilitate the transition from conventional water-miscible release agents to micro-lubrication, we recommend short-spraying as an intermediate step.
Our water-based emulsions offer excellent creeping behavior and effectively prevent build-up of release agent on the mould frame.
Delivered primarily as concentrates, they are especially cost-efficient.
Benefits of short-spraying
- Uses conventional spraying equipment
- Cools hot spots
- Reduces spray quantity by up to 90%
- Shortens cycle time
- Reduces wastewater
Micro-lubrication
Micro-lubrication significantly reduces release agent consumption compared to conventional water-miscible products.
Application is performed using precise dosing systems that atomize the agent finely and deliver minimal quantities. Since heat is no longer removed via the release agent, additional mould cooling measures are required, such as internal cooling circuits.
Benefits of micro-lubrication
- Very low material consumption
- Extended mould life due to stable temperature conditions
- Improved cast part quality, reduced porosity
- Faster production cycles with shorter spray and blow-off times
- Lower storage costs
- Oil-based products: frost- and bacteria-resistant, stable shelf life
- Easy handling: no water mixing or complex water treatment require
Our portfolio includes both water-based and oil-based release agents for minimum quantity lubrication.
